About the School

The Vijaya Public School is an integrated school and hostel for visually impaired students, from nursery to eighth grade. They were initially a public school, and decided to integrate the visually impaired in 2007. Since then, they have supported over 40 blind and partially blind students, and 50 normal students from their rural region. They have various local and regional achievements, and one of their students,

The School is an institution dedicated to the education, training and empowerment of visually impaired boys. The school offers its students - most of who are from low-income families - free of cost holistic education, a range of vocation-based training programmes, extra-curricular activities such as training in music and handicrafts, and boarding and lodging.

 

The School offers free residential services to visually impaired students for there education including free lodging and boarding facilities so as to provide suitable homes for the ones who are economically disadvantaged.

Vijaya Public School worked for the empowerment of visually impaired people but subsequently extended its reach to cover people with other disabilities as well. Over the years, it has conducted a variety of training courses and support programmes to assist people with disability to become independent and instil in them the confidence to achieve their goals.
